Description:  Here is an excellent Illinois Santa Fe Special,16 size, 21 jewel.  This watch is triple signed (dial, movement & case). Beautifully two-tone damaskened movement is in excellent condition, runs well and keeps good time.  SN 2,971,116 making the date of manufacture 1916.  Double sunk dial is clean, signed "Santa Fe Special " and in near mint condition with no hairlines and nice blue spade and poker hands.  Case is a plain polished screw back and bezel and is signed "Santa Fe Watch Company", gold-filled plain polished back with only the lightest of surface scratches.  Inside of case back shows jewelers marks showing regular inspection and maintenance, and further indicating use on the railroads, also signed "The Santa Fe Watch Co." and " GUARANTEES THIS CASE TO BE MADE OF TWO PLATES OF SOLID GOLD OVER COMPOSITON AND TO WEAR 25 YEARS".  A great example of American craftsmanship and in excellent overall condition
