Hallmarked Sterling Silver on both covers, Lion Passant, uncrowned
Leopards Head, small "b" dates this piece to 1897-98. Makers marks
"JWB" for J. W. Benson on this all original and substantially heavy piece.
Roman Dial signed "J. W. Benson" in excellent to mint condition (no
hairlines) with spade and poker gold hour and minute hands. Movement
is a full plate, gilt, and has a right angle lever escapement, bi-metallic
compensated balance and is jewelled to the 2nd pinion, key wind and key set
from the back. Case has a double hinged back with dust cover, engine
turned back with open initial sheild. A fine example of a high quality
English made watch, in excellent condition and fully original. Important
maker, well renowned and very collectible. Dont miss the opportunity
to add this fime piece to your collection. I have ad a few of these
watches from this maker in my collection over the years and they always sell
quickly. This is one of the best condition pieces I have seen from
this maker in quite a while.
