BEAUTIFUL 1930's CATHEDRAL STYLE TUBULAR BELL
GRANDFATHER CLOCK w/MOON DIAL MADE BY COLONIAL

SIMPLY A GREAT OLD CLOCK!  ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL MAHOGANY CATHEDRAL TOP GRANDFATHER CLOCK FEATURES FLUTED COLUMNS, BEVELED GLASS DOOR FRONT, GLASS DOOR SIDES, GORGEOUS MOON DIAL CALENDAR, ALL ORIGINAL - VERY RICH LOOK!

This wonderful old grandfather clock looks great! It has two modes, silent and chime mode; 2 weights and five tubular bells. The movement appears to be Herschedes, as they are the ones who produced a two westminster chime in this period... only marking found is a 1219 on the back of the case. Measures 6'7" X 2' wide at top and is 17" deep. The clock has fluted columns and a beveled glass door front; glass sides are also doors; all doors open, glass is missing on the face of the clock. The top is a stunning cathedral style. Moon dial calendar. The crank was missing, but I have ordered replacement. This clock is about 70 to 80 years old - 1920's to 1930's. It will require service by a clockmaker as it has been in storage for about 5 years. It was running well and keeping good time before it was put in storage.

This is a Colonial Clock. Colonial stamped it's clocks on the back with model number. This is a Colonial case model 1219 with the movement from a Colonial model 1217. The model 1217 was a two weight Westminister. The door glass also does not match the 1219 but does the 1217. Also Colonial used Herschede movements around 1923 - 1930. All this info can be verified in Tran Duy Ly book Longcase Clocks and also the history of Herschede Clocks.
