Al Capone's 1925 Packard 3-26, Six Cylinder
Dual Windshield Phaeton
SOLD!
Description: Al Capone's 1925 Packard - 6 cylinder, Dual Windshield Phaeton, 4-Door 5 Passenger with running board mounted tire pump and rear mounted spare. Beige body, brown fenders and trim. Good condition older restoration done by the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas, paint looks good, but could use some minor cosmetics here and there. The only documentation I have is the original placard from the museum where it was displayed and the Imperial Palace Casino title which shows ownership by the museum.
MUSEUM PLACARD
I bought this car from a museum in Salt Lake City. They bought the car at auction from the Imperial Palace. Disney World was negotiating for the car when I approached them to purchase it. They had been dragging out the deal and the owner was getting frustrated. Car has disk wheels, beige and brown paint, tan leather hides on the seats. Has a running board mounted tire pump, dual front and back seat windshields with wind wings.
Condition of Vehicle: Good condition older restoration. Runs and drives, and has been on the roads in the past, but for the most part has sat in the museums and now my garage. The vacuum feed fuel canister tends to leak down if it sits, this is a minor fix for someone who's handy. The kick panels both driver and passenger side will need to be redone, they are both there but are loose and need new backing material, leather is good. The center instrument cluster has a broken glass face (instruments and clock are fine, just the glass cover needs to be replaced). Top needs done, but I have the original canvas top, with rear window, bows and struts for a pattern. The front windshield wind wings were broken and will have to be replaced. I have a template to make duplicates from, plus have all the original chrome mounting hardware. Finally, the running light on the drivers side will need to be restored or replaced, I have the original, but it is bent and needs a new bezel and lens. The chrome is good condition, but I'd have the headlights redone. Has a wonderful Motometer on radiator cap. Overall, will need some TLC, relatively minor touch-up and the additional restoration work mentioned above to make it a show car.
Terms and Conditions: The deposit is 30% of bid price within 3 days of end of auction, balance prior to delivery within 10 days of close of auction. Buyer will be responsible for paying all shipping and transport costs. The vehicle is located in Martinsburg, West Virginia, convenient to MD, PA, VA, NJ, DC and some parts of NY. I can personally deliver this vehicle to any of the afore mentioned states for $475. To give you an idea what shipping costs might be to your area, see: DAS Shipping Link (click here).
